    Default C. O. Bigelow

Recieved a tube of the C.O. Bigelow shave cream for xmas this year. Wife got it from Bath and Body works... Haven't tried it out yet, think I may make it a point to do so when I get home.

Anyone else try it? Will try to post update on how it works. I am new to straight shaving as I have only shaved with my straight like 4 times so far and its all been used on my neck since I am growing a beard again this year.

Yup. I really enjoy it. It is in reality Poraso, a shaving creme that is used by many of us here at SRP.
My favorite part about the creme is the way it cools your face when it is lathered on. Also, it does lather up really quickly.
    Enjoy it!

    Cool

It is my "go to" shaving cream. Love it, its Proraso re-packaged by Bigelow. Some say not as mentholy as Proraso, but I can't tell the difference.

    Enjoy!!!

Yep. Assuming you're talking about the C.O. Bigelow in the bright green tube (not the Blue, Black, or Red bottles), it's just repackaged Proraso. Great stuff.

I've often shopped at the actual C.O. Bigelow chemist shop in the West Village of NYC. They have their own Bigelow shave cream in the shaving section... right next to the tubes of Proraso.

I've always just bought the Proraso, love it, but if the Bigelow is just repackaged Proraso then that would be rather amusing.

C.O. Bigelow is indeed relabeled Proraso. For the better part of four years I was a soap totaler. Then one day, curiosity got the best of me and I bought a tube at Bath and Body Works in the mall. Great menthol content, very easily lathered, locally available and affordable. What's not to like?

i have done back to back comparisons and have decided that c.o. bigelow is not as strong on the menthol as proraso..

also.. omega is another product made by proraso.. it's slightly more soapy than the others.

That would make sense. While it's not uncommon for brand name manufacturers to make and package private label products for retailers, it would be unusual for a brand name manufacturer to simply repackage their own exact product for private label.

    Thanks for the replies...

I was not able to get a shower and shave like I wanted. We were so busy with cleaning up from Christmas, toys and such ALL over the house. Oh well. I like hearing good things about products I get.
