also i have been looking at there website, and the more i look i cant seem to find anything about it being a shave soap, i have sent them an email and see what they have to say about it. I guess i will wait and see if it is actually a shave soap or hand soap or not.

i have found a small font that says "lather with your lager" and some of the pictures seem to have the "bars/pucks" in scuttles, so im thinking that they are a shave soap.

BEER!!!
I have never heard of this company but I will definately be trying some out soon. I am a home brewer and would love to see how this stuff performs and smells. I am really interested in their solid wax based colognes on their website. Didn't know there was such thing. Thanks for letting us know and I'll be watching for your post to see how you like it.

just shave with the beer soap, found it to build a lather quite well, about 30 seconds or so of loading the brush, then to the scuttle, and some water, and continue to build, made a nice airy lather in no time, but seemed to disappear very fast(might be due to my very, very hard water). i find that when i use softer water(my softener is on the fritz right now), all my lather last alot longer, creams or soap. the smell is very nice and musky when dry but i find that it almost disappears when wet. that being said i dont like a highly strong scented stuff.
i did enjoy the soap, and it seemed to produce a good shave, even thought i did have to swirl and reapply the soap several times during the shave, it produce a smooth and comfortable and close shave. i do beleive the problems i have encountered were because of the hard hard water i have.

I am aware of beer soap but have never tried it. I make my own soap and have used coconut milk before, but I know that soap can also be made with beer, wine, coffee, others milks, and many liquids I haven't mentioned. A quick lesson in soap making.
Sodium hydroxide (lye) is added to oil(fats), and a chemical reaction ensures, consuming the lye to turn the fats to soap. Lye is solid and so it's dissolved in a liquid, usually water, so it will more easily mix with the oils.
But the water can be substituted by the other liquids i mentioned. When the lye mixes with the beer it would react with the sugars and other components of the beer in such a way that by the time you have a bar of soap, one can't really say there is any beer in it at all. It's more for fun and doesn't really impart much in the way of additional qualities to the soap in my opinion, but I've read that some of the beer scent remains even after the harsh treatment from the lye.
In my opinion there is no better soap than an all natural bar made with vegetable (plant) oils. And while it might not lather like shaving cream from a can, the oils in it should make it nice and slick on the face, and leave your skin feeling moisturized.

I've added Guinness to my melt and pour soap before with fantastic success. I added about an ounce of cold flat beer to 4 ounces of melt and pour soap.
It is honestly one of the best lathers that I have in my rotation. It smells very bready, very yeasty. Some like it, some don't. I do! So I continue to use it.
