Default Grandma's Old Fashioned Lye Soap - by Remwood Products

Does anyone have any experience lathering and shaving with this soap ?
The label says the ingredients are just lard, lye and water.

I'm wondering if it's essentially the same as the higher priced "tallow based" soaps, like Mitchells Wool Fat, etc. (It's available for $4.99 at Ace hardware.)

    Thanks.

It doesn't sound like shaving soap rather just plain old fashioned hand soap. Do yourself a favor and get a decent shave soap even if you start with Williams or similar.

I think most shaving soaps will contain some clay (can't remember if it's for slick or for latherability). Don't know if they all do but most of the recipies that I've read over have clay.
