Default Vintage scuttle too small for soap puck.

Hey guys, Approaching my first shave soon and collecting my supplies slowly but surely. I bought a puck of William's shaving soap at CVS only to come home and find out the vintage scuttle I bought won't fit it as is. In order for me to get it in, I had to cut the entire outer ring off and give it a sort of semi-conical shape on the underside. Any suggestions on how to recycle the soap shavings and make another bar of smaller size? Any help or suggestions are appreciated.

Hi DiViuis, you can grate the entire soap and pack it into the bowl, or any other container. I did it with 2 soaps now without any ill effects.

it's also been found that grating williams soap improves it's lather.. my suggestions are this..

grate entire puck, place some parchment paper over the holes on your scuttle bowl.. (be sure to leave excess so you can pull it out), pack grated soap into the bowl area of your scuttle to create the perfect fit, lift new puck shape up so you can remove wax paper, return puck back into place.

    cheers and welcome to srp...
