Default Just got some Proraso/CO Bigelow

My wonderful wife caught me looking at this stuff online and bought me a tube of the cream for Valentines day. I've never shaved w/ cream before only soaps.

Looking forward to it. Hope the high reputation it has is true... especially since there is a Bed Bath and Bodyworks outlet just down the street and all CO Bigelow products are buy 2 get 1 free.

I have found this cream to be easy to lather, and give a great slick shave. However, as with other menthol creams, it feels very tingly and cool on the face which I don't really prefer. It's a great cream overall though!

Co Biglow typicaly gives me great shaves and I like the coolling effect it has alot. I think you will love it to. Just since this your first cream watch how much water you add I found that creams overall didn't need as much water added as soaps

I also get good shaves from COB and it is definitely in a stable rotation of creams and soaps for me. I wouldn't say it's my best go-to product, but it comes damn close (especially considering the price of it...I think it's actually cheaper to buy than Proraso)

    Default Bigalow Cream

I found this cream very easy to lather. I put an almond sized dollop on the palm of my left hand and swirl it into my warm slightly wet (shaken out) brush. I then face lather with the brush and have no difficulty developing a dense slick lather on my beard. Enough lather remains in my brush to relather for two or three passes.

Well the stuff lathers really well. Only a dime sized amount is needed for 3-4 passes. I kind of like the cooling effect too but have to be in the right mood for it. The menthol lather combined with a menthol aftershave (I use Aqua Velva Sport AS) leaves my face feeling like a block of ice. This stuff is great for shaves before work and should be an even bigger hit once the weather gets warmer. Really wakes you up. I prefer something a little warmer for a night out though (usually Bay rum soap / AS). Overall a great product for the price that everyone should at least try. I heard even some Target's are carrying it now.
