Thanked: 1good shave soap
I was wondering if there are any brick and mortar stores that sell quality shaving products or do i have to order everything online?
I have been using williams mug soap and the cheap boar hair brush i got at rite aid.
I prefer to buy things locally rather than online whenever possible, due to lack of patience.
Thanks
Matt

I'm the same way with buying local...lack of patience, and I like to deal with people face to face...that's just my personality. That said, unless you're near Detroit or another good sized city you'll probably have a hard time finding anything other than WMS and VDH. But, if you find an Art of Shaving store, or similar vendor nearby that's your best bet. I read somewhere on here, in another thread, that a guy found some shaving soaps and creams in one of the bath products stores in their men's corner...so if your SWMBO pulls you in keep an eye out for that little shelf or corner. Maybe you'll get lucky?

Thanked: 1I have read mixed reviews about williams and i would like to try a variety of soaps. I would also like to find a store that sells other supplys (brushes, strops, etc.). I would feel a lot better about buying a brush if i could handle it in person before dropping any significant amount of money.
Thanks for the help

Thanked: 23The art of shaving stores are the best places I have found that are actually stores if they are around you, not sure where in Michigan you live. They have a travel set which is a badger brush, pre shave oil, shave cream and after shave balm for $50. This is what I started with and still use the brush from this set but have had to buy more cream/after shave the stuff that came with the set lasted about 2 months.

I know you asked for soap but if there is a body shop near you, they sell a really nice macca root cream that many people seem to like including myself
