Thread: Anyone ever tried making shaving cream?

I've hear alot about making your own shaving soap, and I've been quite interested in trying it, however I've always been more of a cream shaving guy. Has anyone ever tried their hand at this?

Well someone tried to do it here
and there are a few guides on the web for making it out of other soaps. Some other information I found gave me the impression that creams might not be reacted with lye like soaps are.


My friend and I have a project that produces glycerin as a byproduct, we have been planning on making soap out of it. Recently though I have been thinking of making shaving soaps and creams out of it instead of hand soap. If we come up with anything interesting I will be sure to post it.
