Mixing bay rum with VDH
For some reason a few days ago I thought I seen a post on here about someone melting down VDH and mixing in Pinaud Bay Rum after shave... Of course now I can't find it. Has anyone ever heard of this, tried this, or anything or am I losing my mind?

Would heating it up in microwave be okay and how much bay rum to like a full puck of soap?

Thanked: 2591i have done it in the microwave but double boiler is the way to go IMHO.
How much Bay rum is up to you, too much will not allow the soap to solidify.Stefan

Never tried it with bay rum, but have done it with Clubman original. Works fantastically.

Maybe I'm lazy, but why not just buy Bay Rum soap (and a better soap, at that) instead of going through the trouble?

IDK... Thought I seen it on here one day and was curious about it. Plus VDH's smell isn't that strong at all to me. Don't have any place either where I can get different soaps and creams. So I'm kinda limited to VDH, Williams, C.O. Bigelow. Did pick up BlueBeards Revenge a couple weeks ago off the internet when I ordered my Merkur 34C HD razor...

microwave is fine....depending on power and age 20-45 seconds will be more than enough. I melt mine down to add glycerin and fragrance.
I agree with holli though. a better soap helps, but VDH does well for the cost especially with a little doctoring
