Thread: Body Shop Maca Root Shave Cream

Yeah, I was wondering about the balm in the same scent; it's a nice scent; not strong but it does linger a bit. Currently I'm working out whether to use the Proraso pre/post creams afterwards, it seems a pity to hide or mix the scent, and the Proraso makes my normally oily skin even oiler. I'm not sure yet if I want to mix too many scents together, i.e. Proraso Pre/Post, Body Shop, Proraso, Pre/Post? I'm intending to get some Witch Hazel soon, with a mild scent. I guess you'd put the Witch Hazel on first and then the balm after?

Its one of my preferred products, nearly run out but I shall be replacing it!

This Maca Root fellow is becoming my favorite cream

Just joined the Maca Root club today complete with shave cream, after shave balm, and spf face protector. It all smells really nice and can't wait to try it.

In general how long do soaps and creams last before going bad? I am starting to amass quite a collection (about 12 different brands) and am curious if I should cut back and how long these will last me. I typically shave 3 days a week building a decent lather with 3 passes and a prep.

That's how I use it--splash it on after my final postshave rinse, before anything else. My favorite hands down is Thayer's cucumber, which I keep in the fridge 'cause it feels extra-good cold. Some witchazels have alchol in them and some do not. I prefer the ones that do not.

I've used the Maca root shaving cream and balm. Both are nice, but I have had the cream irritate my skin a little. I think I'd mixed it really thick and left it on a long time before shaving.

I shave cold and the maca root plays nicely with the cold water.

I use their Maca Root shave cream too because it's pretty much the best option at a fair price here. I'd like to know more about what people think of their various balms. How soothing are they? How greasy?

Awesome, I use it quite often and it is very good, not greasy at all.

I love the maca root, it's one of the original creams I started with.. Great stuff good price

I like the maca root cream as well, the glide and smell are great.

I usually combine it with Tabac soap for superlather, the combination of Tabac and the Maca root is AWESOME!

+1 - I really like this combination as well. Add a single drop of liquid lanolin for even better results. Tabac on it's own doesn't impress me too much but combined with a good cream and a drop of lanolin is seems to take on a new life.
