    Default Burma-Shave, Thanks Joe :)

I want to thank Joe Chandler for providing a puck of Burma-Shave shaving soap. I just got it today. It smells wonderful. I can't wait to give it a go .

I also found out the company that holds the burma-shave rights and recipes. They still manufacture the soaps, including the brushless creams that became so popular from the road signs. I've contacted them about becoming a distributor .

You're welcome. It's actually pretty good shaving soap, IMO

i stop'd into a little pharmacy today on my way home from work to pick up some deoderant and some hair gel stuff. they had some interesting soaps and lotions that i hadn't seen around before so i asked where their shaving cream was. i figured it would be with other toiletries but it was UPSTAIRS! crazy new yorkers.

anyways, they only had normal crappy mass produced creams... HOWEVER they did have Burma shave soap. it was the only kind of traditional shave soap/cream they sold.

so, if you are hard up and can't find it and you want some, lemme know i can swing by and pick up a puck or 2 or 10.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I just had an email exchange with a customer relations lady from ASR (American Safety Razor) last week asking where I could find the soap locally and she informed me they have discountinued making burma-shave soap. I don't have the emails in front of me to post but it's really true, after all these years of making the soap, I found it hard to believe they were stopping. So, you'd better get it while it's still around because it won't be available for much longer. It's really a shame.

That's odd because I've spoken to customer service AND corporate sales and just had a conversation today with a girl in the New Jersey office who says they're still making these products I've given them my vendor's license and federal tax ID number and she's supposed to get back with me tomorrow

I hope you're right. Here's the email exchange I had with them.....

I'm not aware of any plans to discontinue the shaving brush. Sorry I
couldn't be of more assistance. If you will send me your mailing
address, we can send you a few complimentary bars of Burma Shave shaving
    soap.

I am looking for cakes of your Burma-Shave shaving soap locally, but
can't find any. Walmart carries the shave brush but no soap, just
Williams. Can you tell me what stores carry your shave soap? Thanks.

Ok, this is what I've gotten today. ASR IS going to discontinue the cup soap only. They're still selling them while they have them in stock. Everything else, including the original brushless creams in the tube, etc. is still being manufactured.

I've got a call in to the regional sales rep to see how much they have in the way of cup soap and how much it will cost wholesale, minimum orders, etc.

you can currently find 'cases' of burma-shave cup soap at shenandoah supply's website:

    www.shavesite.com

They have "half a warehouse" full. They expect to be able to fill orders for the next year and a half.

It's recently received and shelf life of burma-shave cup soap is registered as 3 years.

If you order 1 case or a dozen cases it's still 6.95 shipping, there's 6 or 7 pucks in a case.

If I can get it and offer it at a better price I'll post here.
