Thanked: 485First Über...
First Über lather today. Mix of Body Shop Maca Root, Crab Tree and Evelyn Nomad and Faulding's Glycerin. Tried a bit on my cheek (it's evening, I just made it to practise). It feels really nice and soft, can't wait for tomorrow! I think the scents really go well together; the Nomad scent fades much faster than the Maca Root. The Maca Root is clearly a stronger scent but I think the Nomad might sort of 'shine through' a bit; and combined together with the glycerin they're definitely greater than the sum of their parts...
Stranger, if you passing meet me and desire to speak to me, why should you not speak to me? And why should I not speak to you?

Great: a horny Nomad lubed up on glycerin. Alert the local female populace! ('cuz your face will be uber-smooth...)

Thanked: 485Ha! That's great, but, seriously, is was WILD! So, so nice to shave with. I couldn't even FEEL the blade, so smooth, I can't get over how nice it was, and the only thing I changed was the lather, everything else (prep (Proraso Pre/Post), brush, and the trusty Burrell TopFlight) was all the same...

Thanked: 485It's hard to say what the Nomad smells like, it's a bit sandalwood; a light smell, not as strong as the Maca root. Together, they work really well; better than alone; the Nomad is a little light smelling for me by itself. I made the lather exactly as shown in a video here, not sure of the guy's name now, but I think he was from Norway (interesting tatt on his arm; I like it) where he puts a little bit of hot water into the soap and lets it sit for a while; and then poured that into the shave bowl with the cream and glycerin, then rubbed the dry brush on the soap and mixed it all up...it worked really well, you could have made a Pavlova out of it (look it up, it's Australian )...

Thanked: 48this forum is killing me... first MWF, then Taylor's, on to MDC, a quick stop at I Coloniali, Al's Bomb, the bear whatever, and now the Body Shop Maca... is there ever an end to the purchasing delight of a straight shaver? I think I am addicted to trying anything new
