Thanked: 2Body shop, or Lush
Hi Guys, like many on here i am a newbie trying to find a shave cream soap that suits, i have tried
l'oreal shave gel, ok but leaves the skin very dry after wards, especially on the neck
A shave soap, again ok, doesn't lather up too well and leaves the skin dry, especially on the neck.
i then tried body shop ma-ca root shave cream lathers up well with a brush but both that and the face protector i use after wards irritates my skin.
Today i tried lush prince, a thick cream that doesn't foam up at all, i applied with wet hands dipping my fingers in water as i thought necessary, the razor a flatters and garnet nr wedge, shaved well enough 1 pass with the grain then re- apply a thin layer of cream and 1 across the grain, this is my usual style, very few nicks ( a result there then) and not dry, but i did feel greasy, so i washed with body shop face wash then applied lush dream cream, no irritation ( till i put after shave on whoa what a rush). skin feels soft and smooth, not bad the prince smells nice the dream cream not so good.
My shave gear is either a disposable straight or a nr wedge flatters and garnett set up by steve at invisible edge. a boar bristle brush, various creams potions and lotions in the pursuit of a painless shave.
I always rinse or wipe the blade after each pass if you rinse in hot water the cream comes off the blade in lumps with the hair held in the cream.
I like more natural products so like this type of product.
overall 7.5 out of 10.
Will go out and try some more gear soon.
hope this helps
