Default Recommend A Good Clay Soap

Hey guys, can you recommend a good clay soap? looking around online and there's a lot of artisan type places doing them but no more "well known" makers, at least from the point of view of someone who doesn't know anything about clay soaps. two have caught my eye mainly because they're made in the uk and i like to support my home economy when i can.

    Kaolin Clay Shaving Soap

Signature Soaps Limited - Lemongrass, Lime, Lemon,Orange and Lavender Glycerin Shaving Soap with Rhassoul (Powered by CubeCart)

but if there's others out their that people here use and come recommended i'd like to hear about them

Obie, feel free to step in

Edit: also found this, made in the uk too, and when i first joined one of the guys recommended it to me

I've only used one soap with clay. It smelled great and was super slick but had no cushion.
I feel like I've seen shots of the Nanny's somewhere. For the price it looks worth trying.
And I like the name. Seems like something invented by the mighty boosh.

Out of curiosity; why would you want a clay soap?
I have clay soaps and know what they do, but why would you seek out clay specifically?

I have Nanny's, its pretty good stuff.

Most soap makers who begin making shave soaps just add clay and call it shave soap. This product isn't to the same level as we are used to.

Honeybee Spa Soaps have been a great performer and have a ton of scents to chose from. They are very reasonably priced and ships quickly. The pucks are also generously sized. Sue uses china clay in her recipe. Great stuff.

Because I don't have any soaps with clay in them and i'm sure way back when, when i started this, i read that clay soap had very good clide and it was a traditional way of making soap. like all things shave related i wanted to give it a try. Like having a tallow based soap as well as glycerin.

that's another for nanny's though cheers! will also look into the honeybee as well

I'm pretty sure that Fitjar puts clay in their shave soap. They definitely use it elsewhere in their line. Their shave soaps are my favorite.
