ogalla bay rum soap
Just wondering if there's a trick to getting this stuff to lather properly. I've been trying to use it for about a week now and can't seem to find the right balance of water. Lathers up but there doesn't seem to be enough cushion compared to VDH for example.I've tryed heavily loading the brush and presoaking the puck etc ,just can't seem to get it right.

Yeah water is soft here but parents house few miles away has hard water maybe I'll snag a jug full next time I visit and give that a try.

I'm not sure it's the water... I use Ogallala soap for over a year now and never had problem. I would try it some more, it's a great soap!! In a Übberlather it's working wonders!
cheers

Thanked: 1While I haven't personally tried this soap, I have heard many users experience the same problem. If I encountered this problem, I would spend more time loading my brush and try bowl lathering to get the proportions right, as opposed to face lathering which I normally do. You can always squirt a small dollop of cream in to help. I do that from time to time with my C&E soaps, works like a charm

it's really strange for me because I can't get the soap to lather properly with my Plisson European White brush... but it works perfectly with my $8 brush from target. Vice versa with my MWF - I think it just takes a bit of experimenting
