Thanked: 9Dr. Hunter's Original Barber Shop Creme
This one is made by Caswel-Massey
I have been consistently disappointed by C-M products (cologne, shave cream, pre-shave oil - too strong / corny smells, skin reactions) - but this is the closest "shave shop" around.
So I picked a tube of this shave creme because I liked the smell in the "try me" tub.
Going home I prepared my brush and proceeded to a grand fiasco. What do you know, turns out this should be applied with fingertips. Hm, at least it does not sting and has an interesting smell. But I still hate the fact I do not need a brush for it. Lubricity seems ok.
Looking at the tube I come across the following statement on the back: "Gentlemen, let's beard the myth and face up to the fact that shaving is not the happiest pastime of our day..."
What? WHAT??? Who the ~!@#$ do you think you're talkin' to??? Now, I am glad I have happier moments in my daily life, but shaving is certainly a great pleasure - since I switched to straights, and was not that bad with a DE either. This statement clearly tells me Dr. Hunter, whoever he was, does not deserve my money and had a different target customer. And don't even get me started on the "Original Barber Shop" pretense of a name... Ridiculous
Conclusion: I will certainly try hard not to buy another product by Dr. Hunter

Thanked: 369izlat,
What happened when you used your brush? I've used Dr. Hunter's with a brush and it worked just fine.

Thanked: 9Scott,
It didn't produce nice lather. Maybe I was supposed to be more patient? But it's a cream...
Anyway, the quote itself is enough of a turn-off for me
Cheers

Thanked: 9Tried again last night. Used a ridiculous amount of cream, and spent quite some time working it so the next step is to try with bottled water. If this doesn't work I am throwing the towel
I am only trying it again because of Scott's comment that it worked for him

Thanked: 346I tried it a couple of times. It's merely ok brushless, and worthless with a brush.
