...I decided to cook Proraso/Windsor/Musgo Real and glycerin today.

It all started when I realised I had almost no Proraso cream left. I've always felt Proraso to be a sort of Dr Jeckle and Mr Hyde; 1/2 soap 1/2 cream. I'd been loading the brush on top of the soap in the container lately; it worked well but now I find the soap/cream is rather soft, and not like its former self. As there was only a little left, and as I was feeling quite loathful towards the non-compliant Windsor, I decided to mix them (with some other stuff) and see what happened.

The picture shows the mix, I sort of shredded some Windsor in the mouliner, put it and the rest of the Proraso, a good squeeze or Musgo and a drizzle or so of glycerine in a jar (I considered cling wrap, but decided against it) and placed it all (with the lid on) in a saucepan of simmering water for ten minutes. Result was, well, hot Windsor, Proraso, Musgo and glycerin. I actually expected them to graciously melt away and become one. I beat the whole mess for a few minutes with a spoon in the jar, scooped it out, pretended to make coconut balls for a bit, squished it in the scuttle, and that was that! It's 'rested' for around an hour and a 1/2 now, so I'll go and whip up a batch and tell you how it goes.

There's a shop near here that sells sheep's milk soap (with honey). I've used goat's milk soap a lot, but never seen sheep's milk soap. I think reasearching how to make my own shaving soap, with a base soap (like a bar of sheep's or goat's milk soap) and essential oils and stuff might be interesting...
