Wife has SCE (Shaving Cream Envy)
As a dedicated wet shaver, I've amassed several tubs of different scents of shaving cream. I'm a big fan of TOBS, Trumpers, and Truefitt and Hill (isn't this the 3 T's?). My wife still insists on using her multi-bladed disposable cartridge razor but has since realized the pleasure and shave quality of a good cream. She currently uses Bert's Bees Shaving cream but is getting a little bored with the scent and wants more variety. She smelled my TOBS Rose and TH lavender and now wants to try them out to see how they shave.
My concern is that these creams build up quite a lather compared to the Bert's Bees. I would like to hear from the ladies if they've tried these creams and what their opinions are.

SWMBO loves using whatever I have out once done shaving and there is always plenty. She has fallen into the DE trap also!!

Thanked: 2All I can tell you is that my Trumpers Rose has been seen in the tub lately. My wife use to do the Ivory soap for lather, but she tried the Trumpers with the generic boar brush at Walgreens and she has never gone back. She said that the soaps always made her skin dry and itchy.

Just picked up a MammaBears Rose shave stick for my girlfriend, she is amazed at how much better the lather is and loves the smell. Also got her a decent little boar brush to give a try.
Now that I know she's into it I'll get her a nice Badger brush.
If I can get her to switch to DE razor I'm sure she'll be even happier

I haven't tried the Burt's Bees or the other products mentioned, personally I like having all choices of my SO's soap/cream stash. Each product is different and the lather process must be learned IMO. Str8Shooter mentioned that his SWMBO gets whatever is left when he is done, maybe you can even just mix her up some lather showing her how you do it. Once I caught 'the bug' I actually watched a few lather videos to learn better technique (like changing directions, clockwise... counter clockwise when my mixing lather in a scuttle)
I hope she ends up with a DE, I got mine for a VD (Valentines day, what a great SO I have!) along with a sample pack of 10 different blades. The opportunity to try different blades was the best part, some I didn't like right away and others were excellent straight out of the package. If I had only received one variety of blades I might not have liked my DE as much.

My gf wants her legs shaved with my DE today. She loves how the creams and blade make my face feel. If she likes it I'll probably end up getting her one with a variety blade pack. I can't have her taking mine.

Awesome!!! Happy DE day to your GF!
I have a different suggestion... you could buy that variety pack along with a straight razor and share both with her!

Straight razors put us both on edge, so to speak. I may try one, but it'll be a while.

I understand completely, that is not something to rush. Thanks for letting me give you a little guff. My BF and I are definitely crazy! Heck, if you stayed with a DE the rest of your life you would still be way ahead of most!

I wish someone had told me about DE's earlier. I didn't like shaving with a cartridge razor. Expensive and, well, lame.
I'm hoping my gf doesn't walk off with my shaving cream. But if she does, luckily I have some extra that isn't in plain view.
