Default I love Old Spice soap, but ebay doesn't offer financial aid for those who qualify...

Yeah, I love Old Spice. I don't know whether it's more because I genuinely like it, or that I'm a such a nostalgia addict. Let's face it, we all are to some degree, otherwise we wouldn't choose to shave with a straight in the first place. That being said, I'm not going to buy any 15 to 20 dollar refills. I've seen a few knockoff scents that have been reviewed on here and sound promising... Mama Bear, etc., but I don't wanna buy all of them just to find out which one is the closest if someone else has already done the footwork before me. Learn from history, that's my motto. Mainly I'm looking for the closest scent-wise... as far as lather, glide, all that jazz? As long as it's at least as good as the original, I'm ok with it. I'd say that there'll be no problem with that though; in my experience, handmade soaps almost always seem to be great quality.
