Thread: Lucky Tiger Products / What Products Would You Gift to a Newb?

Gentleman,

I have two brief questions so I thought I'd combine them into one handy little post.

#1 Does anyone use or like Lucky Tiger products? Specifically, the menthol vanishing cream. I remember I got a shave from a barber once and he used the menthol cream after the shave, and I quite liked it, so I ordered some off amazon and it showed up today. The smell is really strong! I'm interested in what everyone thinks of their products though, both love and hate.

#2 With the holidays coming up I'll probably be giving some of my male friends shaving kits. What products would you recommend for first timers? Mostly because they're readily available, here's what I'm thinking so far:

Shave Secret Pre-Shave Oil
Pacific Shaving Company all natural shaving cream (again, because I can buy it near my house)
One of the old DEs or straights that I have (cleaned up of course)
Wilkinson Sword Blades
Thayer's Witch Hazel

What would you guys choose?

I briefly used Lucky Tiger Bay Rum as well as the Aftershave/Face Tonic. Can't say I was real impressed by the Bay Rum. I still occasionally use the aftershave/face tonic after I wash my face before bed. I don't see purchasing them again. There are much better bay rums out there( Ogallala and Dominica come to mind) and I'd just as soon use Thayer's Witch Hazel as a post wash astringent. As for gifting shaving kits, I think that's just an outstanding idea! I'd lean towards using DE's in those kits, less of a learning curve than a SR.
