Taylor of old Bond Street Jeremy Street shaving soap.
I did order this shaving soap from BullGoose Shaving Supplies -Traditional Wetshaving Supplies with an excellent serivce (as always) from Phil.
This is a truly great soap,I must admit, even better than the Lavender refill I tried several months ago and almost like the lavander bowl one (they have different formulations and the bowl one its not longer made).
Its presentation its really nice, with the black box and white letters, kind of the Trumper Eucris one (I think this soap its the TOBS answer to that one).
As you can read its a palm oil based shaving soap, with sweet almond oil:
And,of course, its a triple milled soap, which means that its gonna last you a long time of everyday use,but also, you have to load the brush with more soap than if you were using a melt and pour soap or a shaving cream.
This soap creates a really rich land thick lather, reminding me of the Plisson shaving soap but also has more "slickness" due,I guess,to the sweet almond oil, which also nourish the skin.
The shaves with this soap have been great, much better as I have pointed, than the ones with the TOBS lavender refil one.My skin its not dry after the shave (I have really dry skin) so Im really happy about this.
And the best of all?Its scent. This is a really complex scent, full of different tones and really elegant as well as manly. The scent last during the shave and even afterwards, making me delight sine I really like it a lot.If you really like Trumper Eucris and youre looking for a soap with a better skin care, this is the one.
Well done for TOBS.

Thanked: 3Thanks to Teiste for an excellent review. I prefer soaps to creams, I had used the TOBS Jermyn St Cream due to dry and somewhat sensitive skin - a superb lubricating cream. I also bought the TOBS Jermyn St Soap from Phil at Bullgoose, you can't go wrong with either (the Soap or Phil)!

Thanked: 1195Taylor of Old Bond street makes an excellent product, no doubt. I think they get a bum rap when compared to the other T's, which is unfair and (I believe) probably based solely on price. Cheaper doesn't necessarily mean inferior....

Thanked: 3226Didn't want to start a whole new thread when there was an existing one. Just tried this soap for the first time this morning and have to say I agree with the OP's assessment. Easily whipped up a nice rich thick lather that left my face feeling fine. I have to say that, to me, this has one of the nicest scents of the soap I have tried so far. A very good first impression. TOBS soap don't get mentioned much which is too bad imo as this one is just fine.

I've heard mixed reviews on the soap, on youtube some were critical of the lather.
Since I purchased cella I have retired all my other soaps/creams, the only one to survive was TOBS Jermyn St CREAM.

Thanked: 3226Lets put it this way about the lather, it won't keep you from getting a good shave. Had Cella and the lather with it would not stop you from getting a good shave either but I just can't stand the scent. With Vitos Red it is the same thing which is not surprising as I could tell them apart in performance or scent.
So really, with soaps/creams/croaps one man's meat is another man's poison. You just have to try them and see if it is suitable to you.
