Default Soap a little too big for mug

I've melted glycerin based soaps but I didn't think that works for regular soap. I tried heating everything in very hot water but the puck is only have way down. I figure I can use it as is but I was wonder what other might do. Trim the sides? Use it a few times until it drops?

Trim the sides and put the shavings at the bottom.

I use a cheese grater and press it down in 1/4th...i.e. Grate 1/4 press it down grate 1/4 press it down etc.... There was a posting a few weeks ago about grating it. I bought one of those box graters and leave it away from the one I use on actual cheese!!!
