Geo F. Trumper - Almond
After reading a lot of good reviews about GFT, I had to try it. I've tried a few others (Mamma Bear, Proraso, Jack Black, etc.) and this one definitely has topped them all as far as moisturizing, glide, and ease of use. I was a little disappointed w/the scent though. I ordered almond and it smells more like Oil of Olay soap. I was expecting the strong scent like Mamma Bear has, but didn't get it. Has anyone else encountered this? Did I just get a weak batch? I'm still going to use it, it works well with my after shave balm and cologne but I doubt I would buy it again.

Hi Haakon, I'm a great fan of Geo Trumpers almond shave cream it's a light fragrance but it great for a very early morning shave. I must admit I wish the fragrance was stronger but then I use an aftershave and the Trumpers almond does not appear to hinder it. Overall IMO the Trumpers make a top quality shave cream. I will look at Mitchells although not sure who supplies it in London.

I have the Trumpers almond and it's a sweet almond as opposed to the Harris which is a drier almond. I think the scent is just about right. I never want a soap to be overpowering just light. I usually find the glycerin based soaps to have much stronger scents than the milled soaps like the English ones. Of course that's my preference.

Thanked: 1195I don't have Trumpers Almond, but if you aren't happy with it I'd recommend DR Harris' version. Typical, great Harris performance with a faithful almond scent.
BTW - You didn't say if you had the soap or cream. I have the (DR Harris) soap and as such my opinion is based on that.
