Thanked: 62Soaps and Creams For Hot Scuttle
I'm wondering if anyone has found any soaps or creams that stand up to the temperature of a hot scuttle? Everything I have used seems to break down fom the heat. They come back pretty well when I work my brush on my face but not as good as when I dont use a scuttle.

Danricgro,
Just how hot are we talking about? Not extremely hot, I dare say. Extreme hot will break down your lather, whether it is in a scuttle or a lather bowl. The lather should be warm and not burning hot.

Stay at warm, not hot. Most soaps/creams does not like hot. Simple as that.

Thanked: 62Just tap water hot is all I use. Tried the microwave but quickly learned that was hopeless. Just wondering if anyone found anything that handles heat better than most.

I have a bunch of soaps and they all break down with high heat.
The idea is to use hot but not super hot water and the scuttle should retain the heat long enough for your shave. I use hot tap water in my Oskar and have no issues with hot lather. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero
