Default Spencer & Devon - Sagebrush

    Sagebrush

As we are about to have our Atlanta meetup, I contacted a couple of vendors to see if they wanted to participate - spencer & devon responded with a nice selection of their products.

Tonight, I shaved with their "Sagebrush" shave creme. Took about a quarter size dollop into the scuttle, and filled the lower section with hot water while I showered. The heat from the scuttle seemed to melt the shea butter so when lathering, it really whipped up. The brush loaded up nicely, and the lather was thick without being goopy. A nice shine to it and the scent is an earthy rosemary.

Very nice coverage, with a really solid cushion. You can really feel a smooth layer on the skin. Lather didn't dry out, and the more you whip it, the smoother it gets. Even a little portion of lather left over, can be spread over your face and if you add a little water...it keeps on going.

Great scent throughout, and afterwards, it's not greasy - but there is a nice feeling of comfortable moisture.

They have an unscented...and a "Spice" fragrance (Not like an Old Spice, but cinnamon/nutmeg/earthy/clove/allspice).

Looking forward to trying these other soon...

I was wondering about their products. Over the last couple of days I've seen their banner ads popping up here on SRP. Glad to hear that they seem to be a quality product.

Nice quality from a new company. The VP was kind enough to AIR MAIL their products for our Atlanta meetup. Such a treat!

There were a few of us checking out the samples, the Sagebrush scent got quite a few comments. Very refreshing in my opinion.

Next morning got my bag of samples, and had a freshly honed straight, and went right to the Sagebrush. Have to agree with Moosiker the way he described performance is right on.

Being somewhat new sometimes lather tends to start drying for me before the end of my shave. Not this time. I liked the fact that you could add water and the lather stays thick and creamy.
First impressions ...Good quality product! Love the scent.

the sagebrush scent really brings me back to when i used to live and hike through the mountains of santa barbara. great scent, totally natural, totally true. the spice scent gives you a really warm feeling, perfect for a hot scuttle on a cold day in the winter. great consistency and shave quality all around. i experienced no irritation from either which is impressive since i have very sensitive skin. this cream is going somewhere.

Curious about this one. They intrigue me and since I'm starting to run out of shavecream it might be time to order something new.

The Sagebrush is a nice sage, cedar, rosemary fragrance. Spice is not like "Old Spice" - it's like "Allspice!" - clove, cinnamon, etc.

Sorry, don't know what "allspice" smells like. But my interest is piqued nonetheless.

No worries - it's a peppery kind of spice. I believe used in Jamacian cooking, and smells like clove/cinnamon/nutmeg.

Do you use this cream like you would use any other brush cream? I'm concerned about the Shea butter being to difficult to wash out of the brush.
