Thanked: 0Palmolive Lather Shaving Cream
I just found this cream at CVS. Any of you guys ever use this stuff? It's fairly inexpensive so I'm wondering if it's any good. All comments both pro and con are welcome. Thanks.

Thanked: 79As long as you aren't looking for something that smells pretty Palmolive is a GREAT cream. It has a plain sortof "soapy" smell, but works quite well. About as much as you would use if it were toothpaste, in your mug...beat it up with a wet brush and you are in business.
Personally I usually skip the mug and lather right on my face.
Good stuff, one of the few bargains left out there.

Duke,
I will echo what JohnP said about Palmolive
shave cream. I lather directly on my face, but
I do this with Trumper's and Taylor's as well.
For me though it seems to take just a little bit
more cream that does the Trumper's and Taylor's
It's definately worth a try and would make a good
travel cream.

Thanked: 346It's very good stuff. It works as well as the best english creams, but it falls short in the aroma department -- the smell is kind of generically soapy. I took it on my trip to edinburgh last week and loved it. I prefer my hard soaps for daily use, but this is my firmly ensconced in my diddy bag.
Like the others, I lather it directly on my face.

It's good by itself. Also, if you're using a hard soap like Williams, a pea size dab of Palmolive on top helps get great lather.

Nothing wrong with Palmolive...probably the best value out there.

Nope, I agree with the others. I've got a tube in my bathroom right now. It's nothing to write home about scent-wise (it kinda smells like nothing), but it gives a good lather, and I wouldn't hesitate to use it in a pinch, or just for a change of pace.

The seller I mentioned in this thread still seems to have lots of product.

None of the stores in my area stock Palmolive, or at least none that I can find. My sister was visiting from Texas, and I asked her to get me a tube at CVS. Well, she brought 4! So I have enough to last, well, a long, long time!

I occasionally slip my tube of Palmolive into my rotation; good lather (and I actually kinda like the scent...subtle, soapy, clean). I am able to find it at any of the local CVS, Walgreens, Target, or WalMart stores for about $2.
