    Default ARKO shave stick

Watched a video review at shavenation.com that used an ARKO shave stick and was stunned by the lather created in less than favourable conditions. I looked around for other reviews and all seem to praise the latherability and price. the only negative I have found is someone displeased with the smell. can anyone coment on it before I send away for some?

I have extremely hard water and the Arko stick is one of the few soaps that will give me a nice, thick merangue type lather. As far as the scent goes I happen to love it. It has a very clean citrusy scent. Some people liken it to disinfectant or urinal cakes but I just don't see it. It is well worth ordering one or more of the sticks, especially at the price.

The Arko shave stick, at its price point, is very tough to beat. It produces some of the best lather around and the stick will last you for eternity. The shaves are top notch with the glide it provides. I think it smells like Dove soap which isn't bad but not a luxurious smell either. I have several sticks on hand. PM me and I can send you one if you want to try it out.

I can beat the arko shave stick price, 50p for the palmolive stick! about 70 cents roughly. Both are great when used with other soaps

As the other has replied, for its price, the performance is good.
The scent however is not for anyone.
For me it compares to a busy Parisian public toilet.

The scent fades completely if it is unwrapped for a few months. I actually like the scent, but it is rediclously strong ( it lingered on my face all day when I sued a fresh stick).

Arko soap stick has unique sent. It is an acquired scent. Smells like it could be a laundry soap, pungently crisp but clean.

Add me to the long list of Arko fans. Some don't care for the smell but I like it. Rather similar to Williams but a bit more lemony. More importantly, the lather is absolutely fantastic. Arko shavestick is probably the easiest soap I've ever used. It seems uneffected by all the other variables that seem to kill other soaps. Crayon the stick on a wet face, apply a damp brush and instantly you have just gobs of very thick, very nice lather. And if you're on a budget you can't beat it. Affordable gear that works like a champ, what's not to like? Matter of fact, I think an Arko shave is in order tomorrow.

It is great soap an an unbeatable price. IIRC it is tallow-based. Most tallow-based shaving soaps command premium prices. Scent is a bit artificial but will fade.
