    Default Mixing cream and oil?

    Hey all,

I tried to run a search for threads covering this, but I could find none.

Has anyone tried combining shave oil with their regular lather? I just picked some oil up and tried it on its own. I was unimpressed. But then I thought that maybe a drop or two into your mug with the lather might be kinda nice. Or perhaps a thin layer applied directly on your face, and then lather atop.

    Ideas, gentlemen?

Oil and cream together is a good cimbination. After shave I used a cream from the pharmacy, called 'Ung. hydrophil. nonionic.'. Put a few drops of Tee Tree Oil into it and it sterilized my skin, sometime I used it instead of AS and the next day my skin was fresh without irritation and red blushes.

That's the traditional way to use preshave oil. I've never added it directly to the lather itself, but that shouldn't stop you from trying. The worst that can happen is flat lather, requiring you to make some more....

As Ryan mentioned it's traditional to use pre shave oil on your skin before your shave. In your lather may not work, although I've not tried that. Glycerin maybe, but not oil.

I've added a few drops of glycerine to my lather and it makes it more creamy and thick. I added a tad more water to it and found that the glycerine helped produce more lather as well. I only use a few drops, perhaps 3 - 4.
