    Default MWF Maiden Voyage Tonight!

Well after so many glowing reviews on the MWF soap (and some average) I decided to buy a puck. It arrived yesterday and I will be trying it out
tonight. Is it wrong that I am so excited about trying out a new soap? Hmmmm

P.S. I paid $18 AUD for the refill but could'nt bring my self to pay $52 for the dish and soap combo! yikes

Not wrong, I was excited when my first dish of MWF arrived. Instant favorite of mine. I ended up getting the dish though cause I really loved the look of it. It was expensive for me too.

Do you think it was worth the money?

It's definitely worth the money, no question. In the scheme of things the refill puck really isn't that expensive, especially if you shop around (I heard rumours at one point that it can be found for as little as $10/puck!). Other than being a great performer it lasts forever. My puck is almost two years old and it's barely dished.

I do agree that the ceramic dish is too expensive though. I'll put up with a spinning puck if I only have to pay 1/3 of the price.

The dish was worth what I paid but I ordered from the UK so it ended up being around $30 CDN for it including shipping. I love the look of it on my bathroom counter. That being said there are many other containers for people who don't want to paid the overpriced cost.

Heck even a vintage old spice mug would have been cheaper. The refills are worth every single penny IMO, the hype is quite justified.

After 4 shaves with just MWF soap so I can really see what it can do I must say that I love it

It lathers just great for me. I just put a little hot water on top while I am showering. Next I might try
combining it with some nice fragrant creams since thats the only department I think that MWF is just a bit
    average.

All in all the hype is justified.

perhaps it excels at being mildly scented.

touché! I didnt hate the smell in fact I can see myself using it on its own most of the time

However once in a while I can see adding a touch of CF lime or TOBS sandalwood cream for an
    aromatic interlude

glad to hear you like it. I have 4 refill pucks on my shelf. I ordered them so I would have them incase they were to ever stop making them. (I would be major pissed)

    Gentlemen,
Yes, Mitchell's Wool Fat is every bit worth the price. I splurged and also bought the handsome dish, figuring I'll be using this soap into the next century. It's that good. For the record, I also love the scent, about which some shavers complain. It's good stuff in every way.
