Obie, which MNS did you go with? I've used my Orange/Cedar/Black Pepper extensively. It gives me a great shave and is a very refreshing citrus scent. I also got the Pine & Cedar, but have not opened it yet...

I have the Barbershop scent, which blends bergamot, basil, oak moss and patchouli. It's a good soap. Many artisan soaps are a lather disaster. Mike's Natural Soaps does well in every respect. I like it.

Alright I just received 9 samples from our forums very own Bald Frog Soaps (Mastershake A.K.A. Scott). As a test of my olfaction he sent me the soaps unmarked and left it to me to figure out what they are. After I asked, he did send me a list of the 9 scents but I only hope I am right when the time comes to order larger amounts.

It is a glycerin based soap that performs right up there with MWS and QCS (and I thought I was exclusively a tallow man). Soaked a small chunk of what I think was chocolate espresso and applied it directly to my face. It did not take much water to whip up a very nice lather, the brush was over flowing with it by the time I thought I had the right consistency. It didn't dry out throughout the whole first pass and provided plenty of glide. I was even taking my time as I was using a freshly honed straight razor as opposed to the DE I used for the other soaps reviewed above. While rinsing after the first pass I could still feel some of the slickness, an attribute I love in a shaving soap. I believe I left too much water on my face for the second pass and thinned the lather out a little too much. I only say this because by the second half of the second pass I had to add some water to liven up the lather.

The scents are much different from the other types of soaps out there, but different in a very good way. As I said before, I favor a more masculine scent, but Scott chose to send me this list (below). I found out that some of these minty or citrus scents should have a place in my shave den, right next to the Tabac.

    Cucumber melon
    Cucumber Lavender
    Chistmas mint
    Citrus blend
    Citrus mint
    Chocolate espresso
    Chocolate mint
    Arabian hooka
    Eucolyptus lime
