    Default Just for giggles.... or is it goobles.

    Perusing the forums I've occasionally come across folks using vegie oil esp olive oil for shaves. Put me in mind of Kramer basting himself with butter. Might give it a shot though. Anybody have experience with Olive (vegie) oil and straight razors? How does it compare to shaving cream/soap?

    Unless I'm mistaken, if folks are using vegetable/olive oil it is usually as a preshave as opposed to a shaving cream substitute. Who knows though, I'm sure there are more than a few here who have at least tried it.

    BTW - I did see a youtube vid where some guy tried the butter shave. He lathered half his face with foam and the other half was buttered. IIRC the butter shave was thoroughly debunked

    One of my favorite soaps is Palmolive soap sticks. Palm - Olive. Two very ancient oils.
