Default Queen Charlotte Sample Cream Reviews

Hi All-As I work on the 5 samples I got from QCS, I thought I'd share my impressions with SRP. Funny, though I originally thought to put them in the Reviews forums, those appear to be gone (but I can still access them via TapaTalk with my Iphone-weird). Anyway, here they are:

Vostok: Sweet and minty fresh, ice-cold like everyone says; I wish I’d gotten the Key Lime Iced Mint too now!

Cayman: I didn’t like this when I first took a whiff-too much clove. But it grew on me very quickly during the shave. Spicy and warm, with a very rich, sweet, cloying (but in a good way) clove scent. This would be an awesome winter cream!

Celestial Woods: Very fresh and clean, with (to my nose) sage and cedar? This scent reminds me of the fire I built once in the woodstove of a fire-tower in Montana using dried sage-brush and other Western aromatics. Or of being in the Balsams on the mountaintops in NC.

Rose Otto-Just a pure old-fashioned rose scent. Having grown some old roses, I know the scent(s). Imagine sitting in a rose garden after an evening rain in the spring, with the intoxicating scent just wafting up to your nose. To me, that is what this smells like.

Green Irish Tweed type-I believe this mimics a popular cologne. It is a very light scent, didn't do much for me. Others might love it.

You probably noticed that I primarily reviewed the scents, as that's a big part of what I love about the different soaps and creams.

All creams lathered well when I got the water right. They are a hard cream/soft soap hybrid (somewhat like Castle Forbes). I mashed my snurdle into some hot water while showering, and it was ready to whip up for the shave afterward. All were slick, gave good glide, and were moisturizing for the face.

I hope this helps. I am long overdue to try AlRaz's samples next, as well as MWF. One of my favorite things about traditional wet shaving is trying all the creams and soaps. Happy Shaving! Aaron

Thanks for the review- it is very helpful. I agree with the Rose Otto comments entirely - a heavenly rose garden. I have not tried the other scents. The lavender is one of my fatorites - like sitting in a lavender garden. The Vostok intregues me and will be in my next order.
