Colleen's shave soap

Colleen no disrespect to you or your soap, I do want to order some samples. but I was wondering about the bentonite and kaolinite clays do any of you guys notice any dulling of your razor sooner because of the clays just wondering since it is an abrasive of sorts? Maybe its helpfulness to your face far outweighs the dulling to the razor if so let me know?---

I experienced no undue dulling of my blades and I've been using her soaps exclusively ever since I went back to wet shaving. They actually provide great glide and water retention.

Though I haven't used Colleen's soaps exclusively
I haven't noticed that they dull the razor at all.

The Gentlemen's Quarter isn't the only firm to use clay in their shaving soaps. Several other companies use the clay to help with the slick and slide of their soaps. I think your hair does much more damage to the blade than lather ever could.

Mornin! I happened to see my name when I was posting the second article on the Chemistry of Soap....just had to look. Do any of you remember "Curious George"...lol.

Damon, actually I find that to be an interesting question..

But Matt is correct in the fact that all shave soaps have one type of clay or another...as this is what facilitates the slip and the soaps ability to hold water.

For the interesting question part....I doubt that there could be sufficient quantities of clay in a soap to dull the blade....but still, clay equals grit combined with those "steel beards" out there.....yeah, from an unscientific common sense point of view. I'd say the two combined is why y'all have to sharpen those blades..... or replace the blades in your DE....very interesting actually....

I recieved Colleens samples today, Wow the minute I opened the package I new it was going to be a hard decision to start with just one. I wanted to insantly try them all,
I couldn't decide so I had my nephew pick one for me starting with lime margarita.
Thanks Colleen. I'll let you know how it goes, it may take me a while to see how they react with my skin type

I replied to Colleen in privet with a summery of likes and dislikes so as not to create any bias for nor against her soap, because it will affect other skin types in different ways. One thing I can say is the scents she has blended are incredible and customer service awesome the shipping was fast. I do recommend you try them!!! My favorite scent was the Lime Margarita Because I love Tequila especially where I live. My favorite of the Tequilas is Bacanora, I call it Mexican White Lightning.
