Thanked: 0Truefitt & Hill Shaving creams
I've heard that this is a great shaving cream one of the best. I'm curious as to the opinions of the members of this forum on this particular product. Let me know what you guys think of it. Thanks for all the help.

I have some 1805 (thanks Dave
) and it's a superb performer with a great scent. However, you will be able to find equivalents for less...
1) Colleen -- Even though I only use her soaps (almost exclusively), I've tried her cream samples and had good experiences with them. Actually if I could choose a single shaving soap/cream to use for the rest of my life I'd stock up on cakes of her Cavendish Black soap.
2) Crabtree & Evelyn -- Even though their soaps are junk, I have their Sweet Almond Oil cream and it's also great for shaving. If I had to do it all over again, I'd get the cream in the Nomad scent.

Thanked: 0Okay Lynn's DVD is on the way so I'm sure I will find out soon enough but out of curioustiy I know there is a man difference between cream and soap one being hard the other being creamy but here is my question when it comes to using a shave mug and brush to get lather and apply if I have the shave cream how do I use it in the mug and with the brush? Do I put some water into the mug then add some cream make lather and apply or what? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I just want to get the best results and do it correctly thanks guys.

Thanked: 346Soak the brush in the sink for a minute, then give it a light shake, dip it into the shaving cream (or use your finger to scoop a little bit out and smear it on the brush) then move the brush to the mug and whip it up. If it's a little thick you can add a few drops of water, and if it's too thin you can add a very small amount of cream.

Thanked: 0Thanks a lot Mparker. You guys are great for helping a newbie out. I think in the way of willingness to help out and speed of reply and just general niceness this forum is one of the best I've been involved with. Thanks again.

Mike,
I regularly use the T&H Grafton, Trafalgar, 1805 and Rose shaving creams. Love them all. They also offer Lavender, Sandalwood and Almond, which I have not tried. They are all great products.

Has anyone tried the 'preshave' oil by T&H?
I use to use the Mugso when they offered it. However, since then I have not used any pre-shave 'stuff'. I really like the T&H shave soaps though....

Another method for cream is to lather
directly on your face.
I just rub the cream on the areas to be
shaved and work up the lather with my
brush for a couple of minutes.
Hope this helps a little.....

I use the T&H preshave oil once in a while. If my skin is feeling dry before I get started with prep I will put little bit on. With a good cream or soap I wouldn't suggest that it is required at all, it's just a little tweak for the prep process.
I have only used a few oil/pre shaves, but I prefer Truefitt because it is super light in terms of viscosity and pleasant smelling.
