Spencer & Devon + Michelsen's?

I have a jar of Spencer & Devon shaving cream of the unscented variety. Makes terrific lather but has a fragrance kind of like clay. This morning I added a splash of Michelsen's Bay Rum to the lather bowl and...behold...it then smelled like bay rum. Not bad at all, in fact. My question is, anyone think this is bad for brushes? It seemed to survive just fine but, this was only once.

It shouldn't be a problem, but you never know. Just make sure you rinse the brush well after use.
I periodically condition my brushes with hair conditioner, It helps keep bristles nice. They certainly get enough soap.

Brushes can be cleaned more thoroughly with Borax. I'd do this maybe once a year.
