Thanked: 2Skin Food and almond question.
I keep hearing about how good the Coral Skin Food is but nobody seems to mention the lime version. How do they compare? I was going to try the Coral but it says it's rose scented and, without knowing how potent it is, it's pretty expensive to risk coming out smelling like the inside of a florist shop. So I guess I'm asking, how strong is the scent and can anyone tell me anything about the lime? I also read somewhere about getting samples from Trumper but can't figure out how to request those, any advice here?
Second question: I've got a tube of C&E Sweet Almond Oil cream coming in a package deal from Flounder - looking forward to trying that almost as much as my order from Colleen. Anyway, can someone recommend good pre/post/after shaves with the same scent?
My Wostenholm came yesterday, sharp enough to shave arm hair out of the package but needs a good polish and stropping before I try the shave. I expect my DOVO kit from Flounder, my soaps from Colleen and my combo strop from Tony M. to all come in over the next few days so the first straight shave is fast approaching.
I think my biggest decision is going to be: C&E Sweet Almond cream or Colleen's Gent's Moss & Oak or Highlander soap first? What a GREAT problem to have.
Thanks for any advice guys,
Jack

Thanked: 7I recently recieved samples of trumper's Lime and Coral skin food.
The coral is nicely scented, not too pungent. The lime is not overpoweringly fragranced either imho. I am certainly not embarrassed to wear the rose out. I have just re-smelt it for the purposes of this post and it is quite floral.
I'm not a huge fan of the lime, it is more of a detergent type citrus smell than a clear lime fragrance to me.
However i would say that they are the best moisturisers i have used, including my gf's fancy ones that i steal when i have abused my face in some manner.
If you ask the nice people at trumpers they may send you a sample too. [email protected] get some creams or soaps too!

In my experience, the scent of the coral skin food disappears very quickly. Its gone in maybe ten minutes.
I find it less moisturizing than a "balm" type product. It does sooth and tone very nicely though. Just my 2 cents.

Thanked: 7Dear sir/madam
I have heard great things about your products at .
I am wondering how strongly scented your skin food product is? Would you be so kind as to send me a sample of the Lime and the Coral scents to try?
I am also looking for some creams and shaving soaps. If you would send me a sample of those as well i would be very grateful.
Yours

Exactly the type info I was after, thanks very much. It's not that I'm embarassed to smell floral, just that I find some scents overpowering. I actually can't breathe if I'm within 10 feet of someone wearing lilac perfume, no matter how much or how little they have on - almost like an allergic reaction. I'll pass on the lime if it's a detergent-type scent but I might very well have to order some of the Coral to try out.
Thanks again,
Jack

Hi,
I have just applied some coral skin food not less than 1/2 hr ago. MMMM wonderful, no strong after smell, and it really soaks into the skin leaving no sticky after effects. I swear buy it. I have not tried the lime version though.

I have used the lime and rose versions of the coral skin food for quite awhile now. The rose is really not a pure rose smell more of a sweet rose smell and I find the lime to be very lime like, not detergent at all. As has been said within a few minutes the scent is gone and it just leaves you face very smooth. Wonderful stuff either way.

I have both the Coral and the Lime versions. They are both very nice but I actually much prefer to use Proraso A/S splash, and Proraso A/S balm. Since I got the Proraso A/S splash, I haven't wanted to use any other product after my final rinse.
I've been using the Coral skin food after washing my face before bed, just for a bit of moisturising and to use it up!

Thanked: 2Thanks for all the feedback guys, very much appreciate it. Think I'll place an order for the Coral Skin Food after the Holidays as there's a couple other things of their's I'd like to try - maybe the Almond Oil shaving soap and an aftershave or two.
