It is a little thin on your face at first but if you leave it on while you strop, remove it and swirl a little more and apply you will find a very nice , luxurious, cushion to go with a light pressure shave.
    Thanks Razorfeld!

Water is OK here...been reading a lot about adding glycerin and vitamin E oil, think I'll get some and give that a try.

The Proraso, little bit of water, swirl in the bowl, and it lathers up a storm!! The Col Conk I got a couple of weeks ago lathered up OK, not as good, but was fine, and the glycerin was definitely nice!

Will give it a try and let you know...but hey, it came with a nice ceramic bowl, so it has to be good!! Right!?!

    Cheers!

So it has to be good. Boy do I have a bridge you can buy cheap. Then you can own a bit of America and tell us what we are doing wrong.

Well, the MWF certainly lathered up a storm, went on very nice and thick. Had a nice scent, shave went great...while shaving, was thinking I couldn't now not remember shaving with a straight!!

Only interesting thing I've read here about MWF, is that some were getting some minor irritation with it. I definitely feel more tingling on the skin, not in a bad way at all, but am wondering if that's the lanolin and it doing some good for the skin??

Either way it was nice, going to have to use it a few more times to give it a real go, and going to do some more reading about it, but currently I'd put it on par with the Proraso Red, and the Proraso Red has a nicer fragrance in my opinion.

Either way, lathered up a storm, thick, velvety, and the face feels excellent.

Seems there's an impasse now between the English and the Italians...sheesh...there's a cornucopia of history right there!!

Thanks Bob - sounds like a French soap????

Sheesh, if I use that, it'll just surrender and then collaborate with the Italians!

Seriously, before I get in more trouble, I've read some great reviews about that... and if I get some, and it better at least come in a nice bowl, I'll have enough soap to last several lifetimes!!

    Cheers!

No, it is German soap and you can get it in a bowl, refill puck or shave stick. It's a Blitzkrieg of great lather that takes no prisoners. Satisfies the German side of me but irritates the heck out of the English side of me so I alternate that with MWF and or DR Harris to avoid conflict and create peace in my time. Oh the inner torment a genealogical mutt such as me self has to endure.

Phrank, you are on to something with the lanolin, MWF is the one I use the most and lately my next door daughter in law has remarked that she hasn't seen my face look so good and younger. She's a beautician and I hope she knows what she's talking about. And no, she is not buttering me up for a better place in my will. She knows that her share of nothing is about what all the kids will get. Can't take it with me so I'm dispersing it to the winds (read obsessive razor paraphenalia).

My mum is allergic to lanolin, so maybe the tingling/irritation is actually an allergy and not the lanolin helping your skin.

@Phrank: what about a MWF and Proraso Red über lather? I'm going to use Proraso red for the first time tomorrow (used Irisch Moos for the first time tonight, great cream and nice strong manly scent), I'm saving my first use of Cello for the weekend.
