    Default Lavender

Well as posted in my thread about Violet I am trying to build a wish list for Christmas. Another cream/soap I have never tried but want to is Lavender. So which is your favorite and why?

    Thanks for the help.

I'd say DR Harris and Castle Forbes would be surefire bets. Martin de Candre isn't a true lavender scent since it has other ingredients, but I'll throw out there for consideration.

Why, might you ask? The products from these fine makers speak for themselves: fantastic scents, fantastic performance

I only own one shaving soap or cream that features Lavender in the co-starring role: QED Anise & Lavender

Why? Because it's a wholly EO (Essential Oil) product, it successfully combines two distinctly different scents (which, in-and-of itself, enables a wider range of afterscents and skin-aftercare products), lathers and lubricates like nobody's business, and lasts "forever". Oh... it smells great, and the price is so "right".

Here's the requisite photo (Geoffrey Beene Grey Flannel is THE best! -- A/S and EDT, both):

I like the RazoRock Chianti Lavender. It's a pungeant and spicy French lavender scent.

I'll chime in and suggest Monsavon as the el cheapo option. You'll need to source it from France somehow, but it is a great performer with tallow.

The other two I will mention you've already been recommended but definitely worthy of a second mention: Castle Forbes Lavender and also Martin de Candre (though as already mentioned it has other ingredients in it).

One final one to suggest is Czech and Speake's Oxford and Cambridge. A great performer too, also with tallow, the Lavender is meant to be a mix of English and French.

I would suggest the AOS lavender, you can get it locally, smells wonderful and is a top performer. Also the T&H lavender is awesome. I haven't tried the CF, but it is also a top rated lavender.

I used Kiss My Face Lavender this morning. It's a wonderful performing cream, the scent is a bit overwhelming, but the real advantage is that you can find it just about anywhere.

I only have Castle Forbes Lavender and it is a great scent on a wonderfully performing product. It is a very strong, pure lavender scent though, nothing subtle about it and about as in-your-face as lavender gets, you might want to bear that in mind. I for one really dig it.
