As a bit of background I switched to a DE a few months ago - got that working well and really liked the whole process. So I have just begun my switch to a Straight - all in all starting to work - about 5 shaves in so going slowing - but almost getting a passable shave already. I am happy with the progress.

Still "cleaning up" with the DE - but getting close to letting that sit.

The thing is: I notice the bits of beard in the lather on the edge of the blade. That I am use is normal. I never noticed with the DE but I can see them clearly now.

The problem is that some are dark like always but some are now a much lighter color - kind of grey.

Has anyone else noticed this? This MUST be some affect of the soap bleaching out the beard bits - what else could it be?
