You guys are great! Convinced me to purchase all 12 samples myself and used the unscented one today! First my shaving soap history. I had been and started my straight razor life style using VDH, which I can make lather from and gets the job done, but leaves my face feeling really dried out. And not the best, but I only have that to compare to the Edwin Jagger which I like and works pretty good for me. But low and behold I tried the SRD and it was fantastic! No dried out feeling, smooth, easy to make lather, didn't dry out as fast (and I actually went light on water due to rushing), just awesome. Can't wait to try the others!

Thanked: 10They are great I don't really need a post shave other than an alum block. Right now I am in Afghanistan at about 7000 feet and its cold and windy right now. One of the problems I had using a razor in the past is it would dry out my face. Not with SRD soaps my face feels like I put lotion on it all day.

Greetings all... I received my SRD Blood Orange shave soap tonight when I came home from work. I've been trying to find a nice orange or peach scent and I had an extra $15 in my pocket after paying the bills last week so I figured I'd try out something from the guys that put this site together (thank you). I ordered it Saturday night and it arrived today, nice. Figure 3 business days. It is in a plastic container 4oz, with a screw off lid. It is clear in color and smelled wonderful. It lathered up nice, with a good orange smell to it. The lather had a nice slickness to it. My only complaint is that is seemed to dry up fast on my face and in the bowl. After first pass I had to make another batch to which I face lathered instead of the bowl but again it dried up kind of fast. I made one more batch for my 3rd pass in the bowl. Over all tho I was quite happy with the product and after reading this thread will probably try the Vanilla Bourbon in the future. I have gotten spoiled by the Baume be shave cream. I think it will be tough to find something that will match it. Anyway I give the SRD soap a thumbs up.
