Default Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap

I've been doing some research on the best soap/cream/foam gel etc that i can use for shaving and from the reviews i've read the Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap seems to be the best one. the price is good, it creates good lather and it lasts a long time however the only problem is i can't buy it in any local shops. not one supermarket, pharmacy, grocery store or salon sell it. it seems the only ones they sell are the nasty gillette ones. this seems to be the case for all decent shaving soaps and creams which makes me think the manufacturers dont offer it for sale in shops. is this right or am i not looking far enough?

It's on ebay and I beleive the seller is in England so shipping wouldn't be too bad.

If you go to the bigger Boots you'll find Tabac, Erasmic, etc plus their own brand. If you go to the right small chemist you'll find Palmolive and similar. That doesn't help for MWF but as said above you'll need to get yourself online. Plenty of nice stuff to be had on ebay...

As much as I hate buying stuff online, I bought a puck of MWF after Christmas. I have to say that it was indeed worth the extra hassle and shipping

I don't know whether MWF is sold in shops, but there are many reliable UK eshops selling it. Why don't you ask MWF? They are based in Yorkshire.

The trick is to look for MWF under the "Kent" brand name - same soap under the wrapper, just a different label on the top. You'll find the "Kent" branded pucks of MWF in John Lewis stores nationwide and at a fraction of the cost.

    Hope this helps.

Yes i did try boots but no joy. it seems my best bet is to buy online although yorkshire is about an hours drive from me I will ring MWF tomorrow if they have it in any shops. they probably don't but never know. if it means buying online it would make sense ordering in bulk and you can avoid postage costs that way too.

Chances are unless you are living in England. You are NOT going to find it in any local shops. Try Welcome To Connaught Shaving they have it for the best price I have found

Not necessarily, I haven't been able to find it in any shops I've looked in, so I resort to buying this wonderful soap off amazon. Then again I get a lot of stuff off there anyway so it just seemed second nature to look on there.

And gsingh13 it truly is a wonderful soap I use it daily and wouldn't be without it. And if you can find anywhere in the north east that stocks it I'd be more than grateful to find out where... Although so far it seems as though one puck is all you need, this stuff seems to last for ever!

I'm using a sample from Garry's Sample Shop right now. Even a sample will last quite a while.
