vaporize some water over it, for a couple of days, and keep it closed. Once the cracks disappears, put some transparent film over the bowl before putting on the cover. That should be enough to keep you cella in good shape.
P.S. Store it in a fresh place, avoid warm rooms for long term storage.--

I keep about 700gr of Cella in the refrigeration for the last 9 months and it is in good condition at the moment. However, since the storage must last for some years, the next time I will buy the 1Kgr box, I will separate it in 4 parts of 250gr each, and I will store them in the freezer.

I'll have to give these a try. Out of curiosity, what does refrigerating it do? I hadn't thought of that for shaving soap before.

I don't think the dryness of the refer is good for the soap unless you live on a desert. Even then I don't think the refer is what keeps it fresh. I would certainly wrap it well in plastic wrap, seal them in your containers.

I have -/+ 500g of Cella in the original box inside a quality ziplock in my refrigerator for over a year and it still looks and smells great. As long as it doesn't start to darken or look pasty you should be good.

lakechuck,
I split mine into 100 gram dollops in similar containers to you; they get wrapped in aluminium foil and go into the freezer. There they remain until one is removed for use.
Have fun !
