Thanked: 14Cella question
I just received my first Cella shave cream in the red container and found that it is much harder and drier than the other creams that I have tried.
What is the preferred way of applying this cream to a brush or face?
Thanks,
John

I drip a little bit of hot water on it, let it sit while I shower and soak my brush. After the shower, I shake the excess off my brush, dump off the excess water from the Cella, and load the brush. Wet the face and lather up! I use an SRD scuttle to keep my brush warm, face lather with the Cella. I love the stuff!

Cella is one of those soaps that are hard for a cream but soft for a soap. I do splash a little water on the container, just to cover the surface of the soap, leave it for 3-4 min., and load the wet (after taking excess water off) brush for about 15-30 sec.. The brush would load very easy and you could end up with a lot of soap on the brush, which is not a bad thing for me, as I enjoy the extra lather! Double O

Depends on what brush I am using. If I am using boar or horse I completely soak my brush then with out losing any water I start loading soap. once I feel I have enough loaded I wet my face and face lather. If using a badger I completely soak my brush, I then give it to pumps to get rid of some water. Then load the brush wet the face and face lather.

Thanked: 3226The previously mentioned methods work well. I just swirl the brush in cold water, shake the excess out, work the brush in a circular motion to load the Cella on it and apply to face. Loading the brush this way creates no real lather, that is done on the face by dipping just the tips of the brush periodically in the water as needed to build lather on your face. You do need a brush with some backbone/stiffness to do it this way though. If your brush is a little floppy you can choke the hair knot between thumb and forefinger to make it stiffer while loading too.

Cella is great to face or bowl lather.
I face lather with a boar brush. I soak my brush for at least 5 min. I then shake out all the excess water by flicking the brush about 3 times or so. Then, I wet the surface of the soap; I usually don't let Cella soak in the container. I try to just load the brush, not create too much of a lather in the bowl (inevitably some is made). Once the brush is loaded, I wet a wash cloth with warm water then transfer that too my face to re-wet it. Next, I take the brush and lather! I like to work the lather for a few minutes, which is really the whole point of face-lathering, the only way to go. If you like, I can throw a video up for you.

Thanked: 580One of my favorites. Love the scent, a few drops of glycerin seems to set it off for me.
