Default Favorite Soap/Cream Combos for Uberlather?

For those of you who like to whip up an Uberlather once in a while (or all the time), what are your favorite soap/cream combos to use? My favorite so far has been D.R. Harris Windsor cream with Cade soap. The cedar and juniper go great together.

    Any recommendations?

    Man,
I use top line soaps and creams and see no need to uberlather. Mixing anything with Martin de Candre, Joris, Czeck & Speak, Xpec, Castle Forbes, Santa Maria Novella and other topnotch soaps and creams would be a sin. On the rare occasion that I might, say with Klar, Provence Sante, Cade or Institute Karite, a small dollop of Arko unscented works.

I discovered trumpers lime cream with trumpers rose soap smells and preforms fantastically.

Hi, Man (BTW, I really dig the Oliver H. Avatar)--

I've been a Proraso devotee for most of my 25-year shaving life, but I must say that Art of Shaving cream is pretty darn hard to beat for Ueberlather. I heat it up in a bowl, mix it with liquid Vaseline and it has a slightly thicker consistency than Proraso, so when I whisk it up with the brush, the foam stage gives way much sooner to the lather stage. Rich, thick and moist-for-a-long-time is how I would describe the final product.

I've used scentless and Lavender, and they both have given me excellent results.

(Estesnoah, I've been meaning to try that very brand/type of cream. I haven't yet, so I can't comment on it yet, but I have a feeling I'd love it.)

After reading this thread I've been trying an experiment. It's not really an uberlather recipe, but whenever I've made a cream soap up in a bowl (I usually just face-lather) I've swirled the brush round on a stick of Arko a few times before making up the lather. So far tried it with Proraso green, TOBS rose, and T & H no. 10. Seems to have worked well, adding to the thickness and longevity of the lather. I haven't used enough Arko to affect the smell of the lather (except in the case of the TOBS, where it seemed to cut the odd lemony note which it otherwise has.)

Think I'm more into the Rutschig than the über lather. I've never seemed to get the two to match up!

MWF and AOS lemon cream. MWF has a neutral soapy scent so it can used with any cream.

MdC and L'Occitane Cade cream. Obie is probably gonna call me a sinner but I do! The cade cream is a terrible lather but I love the scent. MdC is an amazing lather and very light scent. Therefore, I get a good lather with the scent I like. Win-Win from my standpoint! But as always, YMMV

I was thinking about the same thing the other day. Why add anything to a good quality soap?
