    Default Irish Spring Soap

I am sure that this question has been asked before and I am sorry if asking it again offends anybody, however, here we go. I love the scent of Irish Spring soap and use it most mornings as a part of my shower. I was wondering what you would have to mix with Irish Spring hand soap to be able to make it into a shaving soap. I am open to any suggestions from melting it with other items to a cold type approach. If there is no way to do this I would appreciate some suggestions as to what current shave soap shares some of the same smell as Irish Spring Hand Soap.

Slice off a thin piece of the IS and press it along with a slice of MWF in the bottom of your shave bowl and voila' magic!

Well, let's see, you didn't mention race, religion, gun control, politics, etc, so I don't see how your question could even remotely offend someone. Have you tried to build lather with it as is? If that doesn't work, once you load the brush with soap, you could add a few drops of glycerin to your mug and build lather as usual. Just my $0.02 as I have not tried using bar soap to shave with. As for shave soaps for sale, you may want to check out Mama Bear shave soaps. I don't know if they make an "Irish Spring" flavor, but they have a huge selection to choose from and they offer samples. I sure you could find something you like, hope this helps and keep us posted.

I know that I am going to sound ignorant (not my first time, for sure) but, please define MWF. BE gentle as I am a fairly new person to this site.

MWF=Mitchell's Wool Fat....they make soaps, shampoo and moisturizers. Their shaving soaps are well regarded.

If I was going to do this I would probably melt a puck of vdh, grate some Irish spring and mix the grated Irish spring into the melt vdh. Let it cool and harden. I would think that would work best and low cost.

Very reasonably priced if you just buy the refill.

Irish Spring. "Made for a Man! But I like it too!" Mebbe grate a bit into a mug with a Williams puck and a dab of Glycerine!
    Uuber Springtime Irish Williams??

I love the smell of Irish Spring myself. Unfortunately it is extremely drying to my skin, to the point that I can't use it with any frequency. I highly doubt it would make a good moisturizing shave soap, especially for those with skin dryness issues. I do use their deodorant though.

As for our members' suggestions, I can't say I've tried any of these methods but they sound interesting and might be worth a shot.
