Thanked: 3AOS Soaps?
Hey everyone, hope this post finds you well.
I got my first razor from The Art of Shaving, and when I did, I recieved a coupon. I am looking at getting one of their shave soaps with it and was wondering if anyone has had experience with it? I have a travel size of their cream and like it, but am more akinned to soaps. Thanks and all the best.

Jared, I use The Art of Shaving sandalwood soap from time to time. It's a good soap, with good lather, glide and protection.

Thanked: 13Jared,
I don't use the AOS soaps though I've tried the Lavender thx to the generosity of a friend. It's been reformulated recently though and so some of the info you get on it will refer to one or the other of these formulations. The good news is that both are supposed to be quite good. The early formulation was made by Valobra which also makes the C&S soaps (2 of my favorites).

Thanked: 20I was in the AOS store near my house this week-end and was surprized to see that they still had some of the tallow based soap on the shelf. Two things kept me from buying it - one, they only had lemon, the other scents were all new formulations. Second, the price of a refill rose from $22 to $30! The price of the soap in a bowl was $50. If they had a puck of the tallow based sandalwood, I think I would have bought it. I like their cream, I have never tried their soap. At $30 a puck, knowing that I can get MWF or Tabac for less than half of that, I'm not sure I will ever try it now...(but I've told myself stuff like that before - you all know what I mean!)
