Default I have to eat crow

I thought there could be nothing better than MWF but I tried Castle Forbes' Lavender cream today. I was duly impressed. Still like the MWF but this stuff was great. I need to get some of that Martin de Candre too.

Let me know too! I thought my obsession with bass guitars was expensive. Actually, joking, I spent 10 times more on music gear. Actually, in some ways this has been my cheapest hobby. Of course I have not really gone nuts.

Maybe its just me but I tried a sample of the CF sandalwood and couldn't get it to lather very well. So am I wrong to assume that it lathers the same as their lavender? To me the cream smells exactly like TOBS, maybe not as strong though?

The first time I used it I just rubbed my brush on the lid. There was some cream on the bottom of the lid, the side which faced the cream. I guess from when it was originally packaged. I just rubbed it on that a bit and got a nice lather. Anyway, yeah, they should lather the same. You might need to experiment with the product to water ratio...well, if you have not already done so.

I have never tried any of TOBS.

    Creams/Soaps I have or tired:

    L'Occitane Soap
    MWF
Geo F Trumper Eucris and Sandalwood
    Arko
    La Toja
    William's
    VDH
    Queen Charlotte
    Musgo Real
    Caswell Massey
    Mystic Water
    Mme. Scodioli
    Proraso
    AOS

Anyway, not sure why I listed all those. I guess to show how good CF was. CF, I guess, is my first really expensive cream. Well, really expensive to me. Well, Trumpers is not that cheap or AOS.

I have only tried one cream and it was from Al's. I was impressed with the lather but yet to find a fragrance that grabs me. They have a new batch every month it seems. The other thing for me is the time it takes. I got used to the puck and mostly shave in the AM. I like the cream at night when I have the time to make 6 passes.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.
