Default Good soap for hard water

Hello All. I have hard water and was wondering if anybody has had success with any particular soap using hard water. I know some people use a jug of softer water to shave when they have hard water, but I don't see myself doing that. I am primarily a face latherer. Any input helps. Thanks guys.

Good cheap soap for hard water that I use often when traveling since the water type varies so much is Arko. I've yet to find water it doesn't work with. Hot, cold, hard, soft...doesn't matter. Rub it on and lather away.

Gives pretty decent protection and glide as well.

I also face lather 99% of the time.

SRD's soaps lather well for me up here, believe it or not I also do well with Col Conk Amber also..

I honestly don't use just soaps often for this exact reason, Uberlathers solve the problem for me...
Trying to think of others that I use alone Ogalalla Bay Rum Soap works well...

Keep in mind you can get almost any soap to work it just takes extra work do get there

Yea, face latherer here and I'll second the Arko stick suggestion. It is so cheap you have nothing to loose.

I have extremely hard water, and I've gotten Arko, Speick, and Mama Bear soaps to work well. Arko was pressed into a bowl, and Speick was grated into one. I tend to have to load 90-120 seconds in order to get good lather, and I might have to go back and get more soap. I'm using a large Omega boar brush so this does eat up soap.

In the last few weeks, I've gotten in the habit of using distilled water to shave. I keep a gallon near the sink and just fill up a mug that the brush soaks in. It takes much less work to build a better lather, plus my soap lasts longer and my brush seems happier.

I've got a small bottle of Glycerin to add a drop or two, that helps a lot.

I've found Arko to be hit and miss, with the water hardness I have. Sometimes it'll not stop lathering, other times it'll just do nothing at all. Very puzzling.

Mitchell's Wool Fat works ok for me, as does Tabac. MWF benefits from a slight soaking before loading the brush.
