Default LEA anothe rshave stick used

Used a LEA shave stick this morning and again got a nice slick lather and a smooth comfortable irritation free shave. That is despite the fact that I will touch up the razor used. To me it is another honest soap that does what it is supposed to do at a reasonable price. The scent is a bit like Vim the household cleaner, fresh and pleasant with a hint of lemon. Just plain works with no fuss or muss. This is the new formula one with potassium tallowate listed in the ingredients.

Thanks for the quick review. I was a fan of the old formula and was unsure about paying extra for the new one.

IIRC from reading on other sites, they reformulated the original to not contain tallow and that was unpopular so it was reformulated again to put the tallow back into it. Be careful when you buy not to get a left over from the non tallow formula.

Ha! Bob, I read the Lea post with amusement since Lea follows Speick in my soap rotation & I used it this morning as well. Great minds and all that, I suppose. I agree that it's an excellent soap that lathers easily and leaves a good slick feeling.

I also tried the Lea ASB and was a little disappointed. Although it contains no menthol it has that same counter-irritant "cooling" feeling and the scent reminds me of Gillette, which I find off-putting. A menthol fan would probably love it as it seems to do a good job otherwise.

ps- tomorrow's soap will be MWF (milled into a Tabac stick container - I use sticks exclusively) in case you'd like to play along

    Hey Tack

I don't use sticks exclusively but tomorrow's soap will be an Erasmic stick for myself. Sunday will be a Palmolive stick and Monday for the heck of it a Williams stick. Would that do for playing along?

Well, Palmolive is next in line but Arko follows. I 've been meaning to mill some Williams into stick form; just need another container for it. FWIW, my rotation is Palmolive, Arko, Derby, GZD, Tabac, Speick, Lea, and MWF. Then I switch brushes and do it again. Of course I have to try nearly every blamed thing that is mentioned here but fall back to those regulars. It's all part of what keeps it fun.

Funny you mention having to mill some Williams into stick for, I bought a stick of it and a refill last fall. I think it is just a little different than the current puck Williams. The case has no ingredients listed only that it was made by AJ North (Pty) Ltd, Watt Road, Gately 5201 for Kiwi Brands. This http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthr...ms-Shave-Stick is about all I could find out about it. It does have a mild scent similar to my Williams puck but not exactly the same. It does lather much better than the Williams puck though.

Thanks for the Williams stick info, I try to ferret out some of it. Do you recall where you bought it? I split a case of the formula Williams with a friend many years ago, not knowing that it was about to be discontinued/changed. I'm afraid that I was a bit wasteful in my ignorance, throwing away the last 10-15% of each puck and even gave away several. I finished the last puck about two years ago and would love to find something like it in stick form just for the sake of nostalgia.

LEA is a great, cheap soap.

I'm interested in this soap...so i think that i'll buy soon LEA and La Toja
So at home i'll have the best trio stick to low-cost: Lea-Latoja-Arko
