New Proraso Blue Formula Review
The Proraso blue tube is a new formulation with aloe vera and vitamin E. The quality of the cream is consistent with the traditional GREEN and new RED tubes. However, I think I prefer the smell of the new BLUE tube. It is fresh and clean without the strong eucalyptus fragrance of the GREEN tube. It may also be the most slippery of the three formulas. Overall, this is a high quality cream with an attractive price break point. The quality and consistency of Proraso creams are rather good considering how different the formulations have become. I have highlighted the common ingredients to emphasize common ingredients from those that are unique to each formula.

I failed to note the tocopherol acetate is vitamin E.

After several shaves, I can report that this cream leaves your face soft and well hydrated. There is no drying out, even when I skip the after shave balm. Overall, I think this is my favorite Proraso cream, and my wife prefers the fragrance over the green or red formulas. Anyone else share my experience?

I have all three, and my overall impression is also that the blue is best, for me red is second, green third (based on scent mostly). Performance wise, they are basically equal, but for some reason I don't like the menthol sensation from the green. Agreed these are great creams for the price, and as a bonus I dig the old school metal tube.

Thanked: 13The Proraso Red, ever since its release last year, been my favorite cream largely due to scent. The performance is fine, but not better than my premium soap pucks, but nothing else has that strong woodsy scent which always makes me think of wet oak leaves in a dark forest. I don't know how they can afford to buy sandalwood oil for this cream and then sell it for 10 bucks a tube. It's a steal.
I also have the blue and agree with Gammaray that it seems to be more hydrating to the face than the red. The scent is very pleasant and mild. A good choice for someone not looking for a scent experience. I've never used the green and since I'm not generally a fan of menthol, don't plan on it.
I recently used some of the Red out of the tub, and it seems to give a slightly thicker lather. Probably a function purely of more loading of soap, but worth mentioning for those who are curious. I really like it.
