Thanked: 0proraso pre/after-shave
This stuff is great! I had been searching for a lasting scented aftershave/preshave for some time (as I don't wear cologne and so would like something that gives me more). I cannot say enough about this.
Has anyone else here had goodtimes with this stuff?

How does it work as a pre-shave? Thanks,
Justin

Thanked: 0jaegerhund,
It works very well. I use it as both pre- and aftershave. I wash with glycerine soap, wash with the proraso and then lather. I find that this lubricates the skin pretty well.

Thanked: 0The first time I tried this was in the afternoon after returning from Target, hours after a shave. Bothered the heck out of me, smelled nasty (and I love both red and green Proraso soap), and just irritating enough to wash it off. I have since used it as a pre-shave, today in fact, and find it a nice change but still pretty darn strong. At least when covered with a shaving soap lather the irritation is not bad. Not quite sure it helps the shave any, though.

Which one are you talking about? They make a pre-shave that is something like a paste and comes in a small glass 'tub'. It's fairly strong, and you will definately feel a cooling effect when you shave, from the menthol in it.
Prorasso also makes an aftershave, which comes in a larger glass bottle, and is a milky white fluid. It shouldn't cause anything near the sort of skin tingling and whatnot that the pre-shave and Prorasso soap do.

Thanked: 0Both.
The pasty preshave stuff is the irritating one if not quickly covered by another lather. I do like the aftershave quite a bit. A much more subtle scent than the shaving soap and preshave, and reasonably soothing.

Yeah, the Prorasso pre-shave has a definate effect on your face. I happen to like that feeling, but I can see how it might be unpleasant to some people.
